Thomas Yu is the Executive Director of Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE), a 50-year-old community development organization serving New York City’s Asian American communities and all those in need regardless of background. Under his leadership, AAFE has developed over 1,200 units of affordable housing, provided social services to over 35,000 individuals annually, and assisted more than 10,000 small business entrepreneurs with over $70 million in direct capital.

Yu has served on various mayoral task forces and was a longtime member of Manhattan’s Community Board 3. He holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard University and a Master’s in Urban Planning from NYU Wagner School of Public Service.
